ADDIS ABABA, Dec.4 (Xinhua) -- A grenade blast in Ethiopia's northern Amhara state has left two children dead, state affiliated media outlet Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) reported on Tuesday.
Enyewe Zewdie, Chief Police Officer of Central Goder zone in Amhara regional state, said the deadly accident happened on Tuesday morning when a stray grenade lying near a school field was accidentally stamped upon by children, causing it to explode, reported FBC.
Two children were killed and six other children were injured in the accident.
Police is currently investigating the origin of the grenade or how it came about to be in the area.
