7.5-magnitude quake hits off South Sandwich Islands: CENC

BEIJING, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- A 7.5-magnitude earthquake hit areas off the South Sandwich Islands on the Atlantic at 10:26 a.m. Tuesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter was monitored at 58.34 degrees south latitude and 26.54 degrees west longitude, the center said.
