JERUSALEM, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Israel's army said a Palestinian man launched a car-ramming attack in the central West Bank on Thursday afternoon, lightly injuring a soldier.
The driver was shot and killed at the scene, Israeli media reported.
"Security forces who were present at the scene fired toward the terrorist and neutralized him," a military statement read, without elaborating on the condition of the driver.
The incident outside al-Bireh city, northeast of Ramallah, came hours after a drive-by shooting attack outside Givat Asaf, an illegal Israeli outpost northeast of Ramallah, left two soldiers killed and two others seriously wounded.
It was the latest violence in a resurging spate of knife, car-ramming, and shooting attacks carried out by Palestinians against Israeli solders and settlers.
