ATHENS, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos sent on Sunday his deepest condolences over the volcano-triggered tsunami in Indonesia, which caused at least 222 deaths and over 840 injuries, according to the latest count by local authorities.
The Greek embassy in Jakarta conveyed the President's condolences to his Indonesian counterpart and the families of the victims, as well as wishes for speedy recovery for the injured, read an e-mailed press release issued by the Greek President's office.
Greece's Foreign Ministry also sent a similar message of solidarity.
"Our thoughts go out to the victims' families and loved ones. Our sincere condolences and solidarity to the Indonesian people and its government," the ministry posted on Twitter.
