TOKYO, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks rebounded on Wednesday morning due to bargain hunting after the benchmark Nikkei index declined sharply Tuesday.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average increased 86.13 points, or 0.45 percent, from Tuesday to 19,241.87.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 12.39 points, or 0.88 percent, at 1,427.94.
Precision instrument, air transportation, and textiles and apparel issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
