MADRID, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Four people were injured on Wednesday morning in a tram accident in Barcelona, Spain, according to local rescue services.
The accident happened during the morning rush hour when the tram crashed at the Sant Adria station in the north of the city.
The tram was covering the service on line 4 of the Barcelona tram system when it failed to brake correctly and collided with the buffers at the end of the line, according to the Civil Protection Agency.
Three other people are also reported to have suffered slight injuries.
The Barcelona tram network tweeted that the Sant Adria station has been closed and an investigation into the accident is underway.
