YANGON, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 975.6 million kyats (629,429 U.S. dollars) worth of narcotic drugs in Mong Kung township in the northernmost Shan state, said a press release from the Myanmar Police Force Tuesday.
The seizure were made by a military column in a forest near Pankaytu village on Sunday afternoon when they stopped a man carrying a bag, finding 38.28 kg heroin and 31.027 kg opium in the bag.
The man who ran away and left the bag at the scene was filed under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
