BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- China's air transport industry realized a gross operating revenue of 875 billion yuan (about 128.4 billion U.S. dollars) in 2018, a 17 percent year-on-year increase, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on Thursday.
In 2018, the air transport industry of China completed the fixed asset investment of 81 billion yuan (about 11.9 billion U.S. dollars).
By the end of 2018, China had a total of 235 civil transport airports, among which nine were newly built or relocated that very year.
China is one of the most dynamic civil aviation markets worldwide. It is now the world's second largest civil aviation market and boosts global aviation growth.
According to the forecast of the International Air Transport Association, China is expected to become the world's largest civil aviation market between 2024 and 2025.
