ISLAMABAD, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- The Pakistanis living and working overseas sent home 10 percent more remittances during the first six months of the fiscal year of 2018-19 beginning from July 1, 2018, when compared with the same period of the last fiscal year.
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), which has the mandate to prepare and release the official economic data of the South Asian country, said on Thursday that the overseas Pakistani remitted 10.7 billion U.S. dollars during the first half of the ongoing fiscal year, which is 10 percent more when compared with the remittances worth 9.745 billion U.S. dollars reported last fiscal year.
Meanwhile, according to the country-wise details for the month of December 2018, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America were the top contributors to the tally.
