HOUSTON, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoint in Terminal B at Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport remained closed on Monday due to shortage of staff.
The airport tweeted earlier on Monday that the TSA security checkpoint at Terminal B has been closed, and passengers with flights out of Terminal B will be routed to either Terminal C or E.
"If you have a flight, please allow extra time," said the notice.
The security checkpoint at terminal B first closed Sunday afternoon due to staffing shortages related to the shutdown of the federal government.
TSA agents have been calling in sick to protest the shutdown. TSA reported that 7.6 percent of their staff called out Monday.
A partial shutdown of U.S. federal government came into effect since Dec. 22, 2018, after failed attempts to end a budget impasse over President Donald Trump's long-promised border wall.
