BEIRUT, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon said Tuesday that its preparations for the upcoming Arab Economic and Social Development Summit are complete.
"All the people who are involved in the preparations for the summit are ready for this event," the summit's spokesperson and media adviser to Lebanon's Presidency Rafic Chlala told Xinhua.
The summit, organized by the Arab League, is schedule on Jan. 19 and 20 in Beirut.
Hani Chmaytelli, secretary-general of the Lebanese Foreign Ministry, announced Tuesday that most Arab countries have confirmed their participation in the summit on a very high level.
"We are very positive about the success of the summit," he said.
The summit aims to discuss primarily the developmental issues in the Arab world.
