TRIPOLI, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Spokesman of Libya's eastern-based army on Friday said the army killed three terrorist leaders in Al-Shati city in southern Libya.
Ahmad al-Misari said the army's operation chamber killed the three terrorists, including an Egyptian, at dawn after receiving information about presence of terrorists in the area.
The killed terrorists are Abdalmen'em al-Hasnawi, also known as Abu Talha al-Libi, Mahdi Dengu, and the Egyptian, Abdullah al-Desouki, the spokesman said.
Al-Hasnawi and Dengu are two of the most wanted terrorists locally and internationally. They are also the founders of the so-called Desert Army that was formed about two years ago following the defeat of Islamic State in Sirte.
The two terrorists have repeatedly survived U.S. and Libyan airstrikes over the past few years in southern Libya.
