Military plane crashes in northern Morocco

RABAT, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan air force Mirage F1 crashed Monday near the northern city of Taounate during a training flight, the Moroccan army said.

According to a statement from the General Staff of the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces, the plane crashed in an inhabited area due to a technical breakdown.

The pilot managed to eject safely, the source noted, adding that the plane crash did not cause any collateral damage.
