Tunisia coalition announces candidate for presidential election in 2019

TUNIS, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- "Victory for Tunisia" coalition Saturday made an announcement of its candidate for the coming presidential election later in 2019.

The coalition, initially formed late in December last year, consists of independent Tunisian youths that take part in the political scene in an up-to-date perspective that copes with their aspirations, said a statement by the coalition.

Addressing a media conference, Akram Masmoudi, the presidential nominee, said the coalition has the same capabilities of the other parties.

The presidential elections in Tunisia will run in November 2019.

President Beji Caid Essebsi won the presidential elections held in 2014, after a run-off vote with 55.68 percent of the votes.
