RIYADH, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Saudi-led coalition involved in a war in Yemen announced on Wednesday the destroying of an Iranian-made Houthi drone and the interception of a missile.
The drone was spotted in the southern Saudi city Abha, and the missile was destroyed in the border city Khamis Mushait.
The drone was spotted and destroyed by the Saudi Arabia's royal air force, said Turki Al Maliki, the coalition spokesperson, in a statement on Saudi Press Agency.
When the wreckage of the drone was examined, it showed that it was Iranian-made, that spokesperson said.
Saudi Arabia has been leading a war against Houthi militias in support of the Yemeni exiled government.
