MUSCAT, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- An Omani force from the Royal Army was sent to the United Arab Emirates on Thursday for a joint military exercise, an Omani statement said.
The statement said the joint military exercise, scheduled for Feb. 3-14, is aimed at exchanging experiences and activating joint training and exercise plans.
According to the statement, the Omani participation in the joint drills comes within the training plan adopted by the Royal Army of Oman to maintain high levels of performance, training and combat efficiency among the members of the Royal Army.
On Oct. 17-30 last year, Oman and Britain held a joint military exercise, the "Sword Express 3," with the participation of 5,500 soldiers from the British ground, sea and air forces.
