NEW DELHI, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- One pilot belonging to the Indian Air Force (IAF) died on Friday when the "Mirage 2000" trainer fighter jet he was flying crashed in southern Indian state of Karnataka, IAF official sources in Delhi confirmed.
The other pilot managed to eject safely, added the sources.
A fighter jet crashed near the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Airport in Yemalur area of Karnataka. Both pilots managed to eject as the jet crashed, but one of them died as he reportedly landed on the wreckage of the crashed jet, said sources.
