DAMASCUS, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- A roadside bomb ripped through a vehicle of Kurdish-led militia in eastern Syria on Friday, causing damage only, a war monitor group reported.

The bombing took place while the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) patrol was passing in the town of Abriha in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour province, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Earlier in the day, a big explosion occurred near the house of the commander of the Kurdish-led Manbij Military Council in the city of Manbij in the northern countryside of Aleppo province.

No casualties have been reported yet, but a report said that a patrol of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was passing by when the blast hit in Jazeera road in Manbij.

The explosions are the latest in a string of bombings targeting the U.S.-backed SDF in northern Syria.

The SDF has been engaged in battles against the Islamic State (IS) in the eastern Euphrates region in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour since last September.

The group has stripped IS of key areas and is close to fully dislodge the IS militants from the eastern Euphrates region.
