BERLIN, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed in a residential blaze in southwestern Germany, the police said Friday morning.
The fire broke out late Thursday in the attic of a multi-family building in Lambrecht in Rhineland Palatinate, a state in southwestern Germany.
The property damage is estimated at more than 100,000 euros (about 113,000 U.S. dollars), according to a statement by the regional police office and the state prosecutor's office.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, the statement said.
