AMMAN, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Jordan and Kuwait on Monday signed 15 agreements to boost cooperation in various arenas including energy and business, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
The agreements were signed following a meeting between Jordanian Prime Minister Omar Razzaz and Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in Amman.
One of the agreements entails cooperation in the field of energy, oil, gas and renewable energy and geology. Other agreements were signed to boost cooperation in the fields of education, scientific research, tourism, industry, aviation, management of industrial zones.
Following talks in Amman, the two sides also signed a 6-million-U.S. dollars grant agreement to build new schools in Amman.
Razzaz said that the signing of these agreements reflected the strategic cooperation between the two countries, adding that Kuwait's investments in Jordan are among the top investments in the kingdom.
The Kuwaiti prime minister voiced his country's support to Jordan and commended the strong relations between the two countries, adding that Kuwait will stand by Jordan to help it overcome the current conditions it is going through.
Kuwait's investments in Jordan stand at about 18 billion dollars and create needed jobs for Jordanians, said the Kuwaiti prime minister.
