JAKARTA, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- Cyclists from 42 countries and regions have registered their participation in the 2019 Tour de Bintan in Kepulauan Riau province of Indonesia later this year, the organizing committee of the event said here on Tuesday.
The 9th Tour de Bintan is scheduled to be held in Bintan Island from March 29 to 31 with about 1,200 racers being expected to take part, said Natalie Marguel, CEO of the event's organizers Meta Sport.
Registration for participation is still open, according to Marguel.
The three-day event features five races, including a 17km individual Time Trial on day one and a 140km Gran Fondo Classic race on March 30, both of which are acting as the qualifications for this year's UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Poland.
This event is a part of the UCI Gran Frondo World Series.
