JAKARTA, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- An Islamic State (IS)-linked Indonesian militant has been confirmed killed in a coalition troop raid in Syria, according to a senior police officer on Tuesday.
The killed Indonesian IS fighter was Saifuddin, alias Abu Walid, Indonesian Police Headquarters Spokesperson Dedi Prasetyo said.
Dedi said on Monday that Abu Walid was the one who ordered and financed an Indonesian IS operative, Hari Kuncoro, to join the group in Syria.
Abu Walid had transferred some 2,100 U.S. dollars for Kuncoro to organize traveling to Syria, he added.
