JAKARTA, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Investigators had difficulties in identifying two suicide bombers of a Philippine church on Jan. 27 that killed 22 people and they focused on the DNA test, Indonesian officials said on Thursday.

Head of the Indonesian anti-terror agency Commissioner General Suhardi Alius said that by far the Philippine's investigators have not been able to substantiate the accusation that two Indonesians were perpetrators of the twin blasts, which also injured 100 people.

"It has been checked, but the accusation is too early. It can not be proven," Alius said.

On claims raised by Philippine Interior Minister Eduardo Ano that an Indonesian couple were the perpetrators of the two bombings, he said officers from the anti-terror agency had traveled to the Philippine and coordinated with the Philippine authorities.

Indonesian police spokesman Senior Commissioner Syahar Diantono said the bodies of the bombers had been broken into pieces, which hampered the identification process.

"The remaining parts of the bodies are fingers and only one foot, which will take a long process (of identification)," he said.

He said the Indonesian team had cooperated with the Philippine investigators in tracing all information secured from witnesses.

Indonesian Chief Security Minister Wiranto suggested all sides wait for the final result of the probe.

"Philippine authorities are carrying out investigation to identify the perpetrators. There are still many possibilities, so please do not be hasty in determining that the bombers are Indonesian nationals," he said.
