CHICAGO, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) soybean futures traded higher on Thursday morning over optimism on U.S.-China trade talks.
As of 1530 GMT, the most active March soybeans were up 7 cents at 9.08 dollars per bushel. May wheat was up 4.75 cents at 4.89 dollars per bushel. March corn was up 5 cents at 3.7575 dollars per bushel.
China and the United States on Thursday morning kicked off the 7th round of high-level economic and trade talks in Washington.
China has been the world's top soybean buyer. Any positive development concerning the trade talks between the two sides will naturally boost U.S. soybean prices.
CBOT wheat futures were higher on technical buying and short-covering after four straight days of declines, and corn futures went up as traders turned to bargain buying.
As for weather forecast for agricultural crop, parts of U.S. state of Nebraska and western Iowa are expected to get hit with another round of winter storms starting Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Enditem
