Slovenia confirms salmonella positive results in kebab meat from Poland

LJUBLJANA, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Slovenian Food Safety Administration announced on Friday that another three batches of beef and turkey kebab meat preparation from Poland had been tested positive for salmonella.

It is a new case of salmonella positive after the bacteria and veterinary drug residue were found in samples taken from a 5.3-tonne shipment earlier, the Slovenian Press Agency reported on Friday

The administration has been informed through the rapid alert system for food and feed (RASFF) that salmonella had been found in three frozen lumps of kebab meat ordered by the Slovenian company Alebon from Poland.

Alebon has recalled the three batches weighing a total of 45 kg produced by Polish Efes-pol Fedai Simsek Sp.Zoo, according to the STA report quoting the administration.
