Vietnamese leaders to meet Trump on sidelines of 2nd DPRK-U.S. summit

HANOI, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese President Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump respectively, in Hanoi on Wednesday, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday.

Trump is scheduled to arrive at Noi Bai international airport on Tuesday, according to the ministry's Press and Information Department.

Trump's trip to Vietnam is not an official one, but he will have meetings with Vietnamese leaders to discuss important issues related to the bilateral relations between Vietnam and the United States, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung told a press conference.

The second summit between Trump and Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), is scheduled to take place on Feb. 27-28 in Hanoi.
