GABORONE, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The President of Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi will travel to Harare, Zimbabwe on Wednesday to attend the Inaugural Session of Botswana and Zimbabwe Bi-National Commission (BNC).
A press release from the Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation on Tuesday stated that BNC is a high level platform that replaced the Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation and the Joint Permanent Commission on Defence and Security between the two countries through an agreement signed on the margins of the 38th Southern African Development Community Summit held August last year in Namibia.
"The Inaugural Bi-National Commission is therefore, expected to exchange views on bilateral and international issues of mutual interest and further discuss the state of bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, agriculture, tourism, energy as well as defense and security," the release said.
Six ministers and senior government officials will accompany Masisi.
