NEW DELHI, March 6 (Xinhua) -- The Indian and Pakistani armies continue to engage in cross-border firing, though there are no casualties on the Indian side in the past 24 hours, said an official statement issued by India's defense ministry on Wednesday.
The defense ministry also said that the Indian troops were taking enough care to ensure that no civilian casualties take place on the Pakistani side.
"The overall situation along the Line of Control (LoC) remains relatively calm," said the statement.
LoC is the de facto border line between the two countries running through the disputed Kashmir territory.
The latest tension between New Delhi and Islamabad grew after India carried out an air strike inside Pakistan, triggering a retaliation. The situation has de-escalated to some extent following calls of restraint from the international community.
