NEW YORK, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Yue-Sai Kan, the television-producer-turned entrepreneur and fashion icon, announced here on Monday her decision to launch Executive Education in Sustainable Fashion program for Chinese fashion executives.
The free on-line program will see Yue-Sai Kan China Beauty Charity Fund partnering with WeDesign Group in the Sustainable Fashion program, which is tailored to executives and professionals at Chinese companies engaged in fashion, beauty and lifestyle products and services.
Yue-Sai Kan China Beauty Charity Fund (CBCF) was established in 2011 in honor of Yue-Sai Kan by the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation, one of the most important and trusted charitable foundations in China.
WeDesign was co-founded in 2017 by former Dean of the School of Fashion at Parsons School of Design and Creative Director of Nike, Simon Collins, and Chinese entrepreneur He Mei.
The curriculum, developed by WeDesign, will impart the foundational knowledge and tools necessary to integrate strategies that support the environment while growing successful businesses.
"Yue-Sai Kan is a visionary who understands that the future of fashion depends on sustainability," said Simon Collins, co-founder and CEO of WeDesign, adding that "China will play a very, very important role. It has the scale, the capacity and the enthusiasm to impact sustainability on a global level."
The tripartite program comprises a series of online masterclasses, five days in New York City of intensive education and behind-the-scenes exposure to the best thinking and practices around sustainability, and the attendance of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2019.
The online classes focusing on integrating sustainability with core functions and processes of fashion industry, in English with Chinese subtitles and live chat, will start on March 25.
