LAGOS, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Authorities said Friday 20 people have been confirmed killed in the collapse Wednesday of a three-story building housing a primary school in Lagos, Nigeria's economic center,
State Commissioner for Health Jide Idris told reporters during a visit to the Lagos Island General Hospital in Lagos that 45 others survived.
According to him, 14 persons, including 10 children and four adults, are being treated in the hospital.
Security and rescue officials told Xinhua earlier that as many as 12 pupils died in the tragedy, which occurred on Wednesday.
