NEW DELHI, March 24 (Xinhua) -- A massive fire has damaged two operating theaters in Delhi-based prestigious hospital - the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Sunday, an official said.
The fire is said to have started at an operating theater of the Trauma Centre at the hospital and spread to other areas. As many as six fire tenders reached the spot to douse the blaze, said local media reports.
According to an official of the Delhi Fire Service, no one was injured in the incident as the fire-fighting was still on.
Smoke billowed from the hospital building.
"Initially we faced difficulties in reaching out to the spot due to the dense smoke. Now the situation is under control, and the fire will be doused in another few minutes," the fire official told the media.
Two operating theaters have been damaged by the fire, he added.
