WUHAN, March 26 (Xinhua) -- The Sino-French Wuhan Ecological Demonstration City in central China's Hubei Province is expected to see 27 billion yuan (4.02 billion U.S. dollars) of fixed asset investment in 2019, official sources said.

The money will be spent on infrastructure, ecological management and industrial projects, including 38 kilometers of road, the underground pipe corridor, and a power station, according to sources with the government of Caidian District, Wuhan City.

The demo city project was initiated in 2014 as part of a deal signed between the Chinese and French governments. It is located in Caidian District, with a planned area of 39 square kilometers.

So far, the demo city has signed more than 30 projects, worth a total of 35 billion yuan, with companies including French software firm Dassault Systemes and carmaker Renault.

Wuhan has the most concentrated investment from France in China, with more than 100 French companies investing in the city.
