BANGKOK, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn has deprived Thailand's former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra of all royal decorations.
The rescinding of various royal decorations earlier given to Thaksin was announced to the public in a royal announcement which was issued on Saturday and effective on Friday.
In the announcement, Thaksin was charged of having been indicted by the Supreme Court and sentenced to prison over a decade ago but the former prime minister has remained fugitive overseas since.
Besides, Thaksin had allegedly committed other "utterly inappropriate" acts and thus had all of his royal decorations revoked in accordance with the 2017 constitution, reads the announcement.
