SHANGHAI, April 9 (Xinhua) -- The 18th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, to kick off next week, has attracted over 1,000 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions, the event organizer said Tuesday.
Focusing on the latest technologies in the automotive industry, this year's Shanghai auto show will set up an exhibition zone featuring "life on wheels of the future" for the first time.
Exhibits, including new energy, vehicle networking, driverless solutions, laser radars, chips, high-precision positioning and maps, can be found in this area.
The auto show will open to the media from April 16 to 17, and the public is expected to visit the show from April 18 to 25.
The show, deemed as one of the most influential auto shows worldwide, will be held in the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), covering an area of 360,000 square meters.
China is the world's largest automobile market, with 28.08 million autos sold last year, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
