MADRID, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Argentina's national football team coach Lionel Scaloni suffered slight injuries on Tuesday when he was knocked off his bicycle on the Spanish island of Mallorca.
Local media reported the accident happened at around 10am local time, when a car reversed into a cycle lane.
Scaloni received cuts and bruises in the fall, but was allowed to return home after receiving treatment at a local hospital.
"He is on his way home after receiving medical treatment," confirmed the Argentinian Football Federation on their official Twitter feed.
The coach maintains a house on the island after spending the 2008-09 season playing for local side RCD Mallorca.
