BEIJING, April 11 (Xinhua) -- A total of 100 foreign young people have been invited to promote Chinese culture via shooting short documentaries.
This year's "Looking China Youth Film Project", recently launched in Beijing, has invited 100 young foreigners from 45 universities of about 40 countries, according to a report in Thursday's newspaper People's Daily.
With one-on-one assistance of Chinese volunteers and the help from 10 Chinese universities and organizations, the young film makers will immerse themselves in 10 Chinese provincial-level regions to experience Chinese culture and will make short documentaries on the theme.
The film project, co-hosted by the Huilin Culture Foundation affiliated to the Beijing Normal University and the Academy for International Communication of Chinese Culture, is a cultural experience program aiming to present Chinese culture to the world through the lens of young foreign filmmakers and promote communication between younger generations in China and overseas.
The theme for this year's project is Moment, Season and Time.
First launched in 2011, the program has presented 507 short videos by 508 young foreigners as of last year, some of which have won international awards.
