WUHAN, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Following the first test event for the wrestling venue of the 7th Military World Games, test events for the sailing venues are earmarked for April 26, organizers announced at a press conference here on Thursday.
The Executive Committee released a brief introduction to the venues around the city's East Lake, which will be the venue for sailing, road cycling, open water swimming and marathon events at the Games.
Sailing events are to be held at the mid-lake pavilion, with a water area of 3.1 square kilometers. The sailing base is equipped with an administrative media center, reception center, race command center and boathouse, which is capable of holding more than one hundred 470-type boats.
The open water swimming events are set in the lake area, where many water marathons have been held. The East Lake Greenway will be used for cycling and marathon events. The average width of the East Lake Greenway is between 6 to 8 meters, which meets the requirements of international cycling competition rules.
