Meeting of Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies to be held in Vietnam's capital

HANOI, April 12 (Xinhua) -- The 44th Meeting of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) Executive Board will take place in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on April 18-20, under the theme of "For Professional and Innovative Journalism."

The 44th OANA Executive Board Meeting will focus on three main contents, including strategies of news agencies in response to changes in information use behaviors, which focus on video clips and the YouTube platform; fake news and fact-checking; and regaining trust for mainstream news, Vietnam News Agency reported on Friday.

Since its establishment in 1961 in Thailand, as an initiative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), OANA has brought together 44 news agencies from 35 countries, Vietnam News Agency said, noting that OANA members are responsible for two-thirds of information circulated throughout the world.
