YAOUNDE, April 12 (Xinhua) -- At least four Cameroonian soldiers lost their lives on Friday in Mayo Moskota Sub-Division of the country's Far North region after landing on a mine planted by terror group Boko Haram, military sources said.

"Seven soldiers were also injured during the unfortunate incident. They are in hospital receiving treatment. Our brave soldiers are patrolling the area," a military officer who asked not to be named told Xinhua.

On Saturday last week, five Cameroonian soldiers of the Multinational Joint Task Force were killed in violent clashes with Boko Haram sect in the region.

More than 2,000 people have been killed since Boko Haram launched attacks in the Far North region more than five years ago. The intensity of attacks has declined for over a year despite some sporadic attacks.
