BEIJING, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Luxury sports car manufacturer Ferrari announced it will recall 524 vehicles from May 22 in China due to fire risks and defective doors, according to the Chinese market regulator.
The affected vehicles involve 167 imported units of GTC4Lusso and GTC4Lusso T models manufactured between July 13, 2016 to Dec. 6, 2018, according to the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAIC).
The tension on the door lock mechanism may result in being unable to open the vehicle's door using the external door handles, the SAIC said.
Also, a total of 357 imported cars models including GTC4Lusso, GTC4Lusso T, 488 GTB, 488 Spider, 488 Pista and 812 Superfast, manufactured between Nov. 2, 2017 and Oct. 11, 2018 are also on the recall list.
There is a fuel vapor separator which could crack and allow fumes to leak out, increasing the risk of a fire in those vehicles, according to the regulator.
Ferrari said it would fix the problems without charge by replacing the door locks, handles and fuel vapor sets.
