DAMASCUS, April 14 (Xinhua) -- At least six civilians were killed and seven others wounded on Sunday by rebel mortar shelling in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo, state news agency SANA reported.
The mortar attack targeted the al-Nile and al-Khaliyeh areas in Aleppo, SANA said.
It was the latest in a string of mortar attacks by rebels in the western countryside of Aleppo.
Aleppo returned under the government control in December 2016, but the rebels have remained in the western countryside and frequently fire mortar shells on the city to disrupt the people's daily activities.
