KIEV, April 15 (Xinhua) -- At least 75 children showed symptoms of poisoning after being exposed to an unknown substance in their school in Ukraine's central Cherkassy region, the country's Health Ministry said on Monday.
According to a statement posted on the ministry's website, 38 of those who fell ill were sent for medical treatment to the hospital, with 15 of them being in moderately grave condition.
The other affected children received outpatient medical care, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, the State Service for Emergencies said that an unknown gas was sprayed in the school and that the efforts to eliminate the consequences of the incident were underway.
