NAIROBI, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's under-15 football team faces a litmus test in their tour of Spain where they will meet top European club in the age competition, which starts on Thursday in the Mediterranean International Cup.
The Junior Stars, who have been in camp in Nairobi, are pooled in Group D together with Spanish sides NT Terres, Junior CF, and Eastern FC.
The tournament brings together top academies in Europe, some of which the Kenyan youngsters will relish meeting if they go past the group stages.
"This team has been in camp for the better part of this year. We have also played a couple of friendly matches locally, aimed at getting the players into a competitive mindset," said coach David Ouma as the team jetted out.
"The players now have a chance to showcase their talents on a big stage and I am confident that they will give a good account of themselves," he added.
Other teams are Real Madrid and Barcelona under-16 sides, Manchester United, Manchester City, Paris Saint Germaine, Atletico Madrid and Ajax among other top European sides.
