5.2-magnitude earthquake jolts Nepal

KATHMANDU, April 24 (Xinhua) -- A 5.2-magnitude quake struck Nepal on Wednesday, one day ahead of the fourth anniversary of the deadly 2015 earthquake.

"Earthquake of local magnitude 5.2 hit Dhading at 6:29 a.m. local time," National Emergency Operation Center under the Ministry of Home Affairs said in a tweet.

The epicenter Dhading is a bordering district to Kathmandu.

The early morning earthquake was followed by another quake of 4.3 magnitude in the same district.

According to authorities, no casualties have been reported so far.

Thursday marks the fourth anniversary of the massive earthquake on April 25, 2015, which killed around 9,000 people and making more than a half million homeless in the Himalayan country. The government has been planning to mark the day by organizing various programs.
