JAKARTA, April 24 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian Motor Association announced on Wednesday that it will hold motor race championships later this year in an effort to foster young racers across the country.
The event, known as the Oneprix Indonesia Motorprix Championship will be staged in five series. It will sart on July 7 and finish on November 10 of this year, said Imam Sulisto, president-director of PT Oneprix Motor Sport Management, a sponsor and committee member.
The race will take place on two circuits, Peusar circuit in Tasikmalaya of West Java province and Bung Tomo circuit in Surabaya, the provincial capital of East Java, Sulisto revealed.
"PT Oneprix Motor Sport Management sees many Indonesian racers with the potential and talent to be world top racers," he said on Tuesday night.
Chairman of IMI Sadikin Aksa said that the sport event aims to promote motor sport among youngsters.
The event will stage categories, including Expert 150 cc, Novice 150 cc, and Rookie 150 cc, and some supporting classes will also be held during the event, said Sadikin.
