LANZHOU, April 30 (Xinhua) -- The construction of the China-Israel Green Eco Industrial Park has started in northwest China's Gansu Province, the local government said Friday.

The park in Jiuquan city represents Gansu's efforts to take part in the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthen economic and technical cooperation with Israel and learn from the latter's advanced agricultural technology, said Li Yongjun, the executive vice-mayor.

Three projects including an intelligent greenhouse, a 10,000-tonne pneumatic warehouse and a Gobi agriculture service center are under construction.

According to the official plan, the park is scheduled to be built into one of the largest and most advanced bases of green industries in northwest China by 2025.

The park will focus on six major fields: high-quality agricultural products, efficient water-saving and recycling equipment, intensive processing of agricultural products, research and development of agricultural intelligent control systems, eco-tourism and production service, high-technology and the pharmaceutical industry.
