TEHRAN, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Tuesday that Iran will continue oil exports despite the upcoming total U.S. ban, Press TV reported.
Rouhani downplayed the impact of the U.S. decision to cut Iran's oil exports to zero. "In future months, Americans will see that we will continue our oil exports," he was quoted as saying.
"While the United States is busy blocking one path for exports, Iran will still have multiple other methods at its disposal for crude oil sales, of which the Americans are unaware," he said.
The Iranian president also described the resistance against Washington as the "main duty" of the Iranian government and nation.
To heighten its pressure on Iran, the U.S. government has decided to end the six-month waivers for Iran's oil buyers after the waivers expire in early May.
