CHENGDU, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Two adults have been reported dead and 12 people, including six minors, injured during a Wednesday slide accident in an amusement park in Chengdu, capital city of southwest China's Sichuan Province, local authorities said Thursday.
Fourteen tourists, including eight adults and six teenagers, fell off a 235-meter-long slide, claimed to the "world's longest" by the amusement park, at around 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, according to witnesses.
The 12 injured tourists are receiving further treatment at a local hospital, and investigation into the accident continues, said the Taiping Community office in Tianfu New Area District where the amusement park is located.
The amusement park has been closed and people in charge of the enterprise operating the park have been put under police control for investigation.
