RABAT, May 3 (Xinhua) -- The Moroccan Security Services busted a terror cell with suspected links to the Islamic State (IS) group in the northern city of Tangier, the Moroccan Interior Ministry announced on Friday.
The dismantling of this cell led to the arrest of eight people, including the brother of two IS fighters in Syria and Iraq, the ministry said in a statement.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspects, aged between 20 and 31, were propagating IS ideology and were trying to carry out terror attacks in Morocco, the statement added.
The security services captured electronic devices, bladed weapons, an IS flag and paramilitary uniforms in the operation.
The suspects will be brought to justice upon the completion of the investigation and the investigations are still underway to arrest other people suspected of links with this terror cell, it said.
