KUWAIT CITY, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Basketball matches of the Chinese companies in Kuwait ended on Friday in Farwaniya Governorate, with the joint team from China Petrochemical Corporation won the championship.
A total of 16 teams from more than 20 Chinese companies participated in the matches, held under the auspices of the Association of Chinese Companies in Kuwait.
After four weeks of competition, team from China Gezhouba Group Corporation got the second place.
At the closing ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Li Minggang said that the Chinese companies in Kuwait have been under the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, making great contribution to the development and economic diversification of Kuwait and helping the Kuwaiti people in pursuit of a better life.
So far, there are more than 40 Chinese companies in Kuwait with more than 8,000 Chinese employees.
